HIGH PLACES - "ON GIVING UP"

High Places are back with a decidedly different tract -- moving away from the experimental washes of sound and vocal effects. This doesn't mean that Mary Pearson and Rob Barber aren't still tackling the big questions -- High Places vs. Mankind sees the band looking at the what it's like to be human and interact with fellow human beings. Although the new release is more straightforward, the new album retains the group's essential quirky rhythms and attraction to layers, adding to the mix an increased reliance on guitars and guitar effects. High Places will be touring the US and Europe this spring.
